Arko Art Center: Nina Canell “Satin Ions”

IMG_20150808_113224A show which was able to produce a richness of meanings from a minimal yet very powerful sculptural interventions. Most of the materials have been probably sourced from a cable recycling center: Sculptures were made from the plastic coating, some of the wires inside, some of all together. The materials implied an underlying theme related to communication and communication technologies, using a poetic language of forms. It acknowledged that before any transfer of meaning can take place, even in the (post) digital world, a physical infrastructure has to be in place. The works were poems executed in material for, talking about this physical infrastructure we depend on.
