“Can’t help to love her” was a rather big show around the theme of women working or women’s work. Many of the artworks were showing just that: women working. Some went a bit further and showed the stereotypes associated with women’s work, like weaving, fabric processing and food preparation. Overall, I was not really able to get beyond the surface of the show. Especially in the context of Korea, I could not find much about the elephant in the room when one talks about women’s work and women’s role in Korean culture. There is no elephant in the room, right?
